I tried to install package screen as suggested in the optional step 4 of the manual. But screen is apparently not in ports:

fab# pkg_add -r screen
Error: FTP Unable to get ​ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-7.2-release/Latest/screen.tbz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
pkg_add: unable to fetch '​ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-7.2-release/Latest/screen.tbz' by URL

Resolution: → fixed
Status: new → closed

You are right screen cannot be fetched as package (set to be NO_PACKAGE). Altered documentation to build from ports.
