In cooperation with Sherpa Strategies, projectleader for the Economie071-IoT-project, we have installed seven LoRa gateways in the 071-region at existing high locations in Oegstgeest, 3x Leiden, Leiderdorp, Katwijk and Zoeterwoude. See also http://www.economie071.nl/internet-of-things/. The LoRa gateways are visible on the https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/map.
The combination with the Wireless Leiden nodes has an number of advantages:
- existing agreements with building owners
- high locations, relatively easy installation
- low-voltage electricity available
- (free) internetconnection available
This is an open network suitable for experimental applicatioins. Anybody can use the network, it suffices to register at The Things Network
