Volunteers of Wireless Leiden, in cooperation with AnyWi Technologies B.V., make WiFi-Internet available in the “Olympic Village” of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), in more than 1000 rooms in "de Uithof" and the International Campus of Utrecht University. The WiFi-network has to be installed and to be operational in just a few days, inclusive security and a monitoring system. Security is being provided by the 'eduroam' system by Surfnet.
“If everything goes well, we have immediately several thousands of new users", Henk Uittenbogaard, chairman of Wireless Leiden and ceo of AnyWi says. Preparations have lasted several months, during which hundreds of access points have been built and installed in the rooms, spread over twelve buildings! In the week starting on July 8, 2013, the installation takes place and on Sunday, July 14, 2013, when the athletes arrive, everything must be on air.
EYOF takes place July 14 – 19 2013 in Utrecht.
