From 2011 on for all pupils in secondary schools the fulfillment a social course ("maatschappelijke stage") is compulsory.
Two pupils of a secondary school have applied for such a course at Wireless Leiden, and have contacted one of our volunteers. They have been accepted for the course.
They will be measuring WiFi signals allover Leiden in order to study the local availability of the Wireless Leiden network. They will ride on their bicycles through Leiden and - with a laptop with the program "Kismet" on it and with GPS - and measure where the network is available. The data obtained will be combined with the nodemap of Wireless Leiden.
Wireless Leiden is open in principle for other pupils too, who are interested in fulfilling their social course with us.
