Teylingen interested in own "Free Wifi" project

The municipality of Teylingen (consisting of the villages Voorhout, Warmond, Sassenheim) is interested in starting a "Free-Wifi" project, similar to the project we are carrying out in Zoeterwoude.
An enthousiastic Teylingen council chose on Wensday 28th November 2012 for cooperation with Wireless Leiden and adopt the technology and organisational approach based on cooperation and voluntary contributions.
Teylingen is now looking for volunteers to kick of the project.

New node in Zoeterwoude (St Jan)

On November 22, 2012 two of our volunteers have built the new node "StJan", on the church of "St
Jans Onthoofding" in Zoeterwoude-Zuidbuurt. A short video has been made of the building process. It can be seen below.

Because this church is a protected monument, no holes were drilled anywhere in the building. All materials and cables have been mounted by the use of tie-wraps only. A first-time experience for Wireless Leiden!

New node in the Hortus Botanicus

Two Wireless Leiden volunteers have built a new Wireless Leiden node on the grounds of the Hortrus Botanicus (Rapenburg) on Wednesday November 14, 2012.

The node has a good working interlink to the Pieterskerk and a (not yet optimized) interlink to "Rijn en Vliet".

Two access points have been created. They cover the greenhouse, the "Clusiustuin" and the Winter garden.
Wireless Leiden thanks all people involved from the Hortus Botanicus for their cooperation.

Two more nodes in Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk

On October 2, 2012 our volunteers have built two new nodes, berlonging to the project "Free-WiFi Zoeterwoude". They are called the nodes ZTWDorpskerk en ZTWGemeentehuis. As the names already suggest, these nodes cover the areas around the dorpskerk (village church) and around the gemeentehuis (town hall) with WiFi.
