Leidsch Dagblad: "Wireless Leiden gelooft heilig in WiFi"

In Leidsch Dagblad (printed edition) of Tuesday, 26th June there is an article by Ernst Prosman about Wireless Leiden. See the copy (in Dutch of course).

New software for the nodes

During the past weeks we have installed new software configurations at the nodes, based on FreeBSD-9.0. We expect that the users will notice improved internet rates. We will also optimize the distribution of traffic over the network such that the fastest connections are used preferrably. This will take some time to develop and test. Probably during testing users will occasionally notice interrupted service.

Changes walk-in consultancy

On Wednesday June 13, 2012 there will be no walk-in consultancy. The next walk-in consultancy will be held on Wednesday June 20, 2012 19.30 to 20.30 hr.
Address: Nieuwe Energie, 3e Binnenvestgracht 23, unit 8. Use the left hand side door. There you will find a bell for Wireless Leiden.

This will also be the last walk-in consultancy before the summer pause. In July and August there will be no walk-in consultancy!

Revamp of node Lucas-van-Leyden-school

We have revamped one of the oldest Wireless Leiden nodes, at the Lucas van Leyden primary school. The setup is now of the "iris"-type. The school is located at the St. Ursulasteeg. There are interlinks to Webster, City Hall and (in future) the Rabobank.
