Wireless Leiden now registered 'experimental infrastructure'

Wireless Leiden is now registered in the XIPI database as an approved 'experimental infrastructure' in the EU Infinity Project, ref. http://www.xipi.eu/home and http://fi-infinity.eu/portal. The first in the Netherlands and (at this time) one of sixteen in Europe.
As stated on their website:

Node on island of sea scouts

On Saturday April 7, 2012 three volunteers of Wireless Leiden have built a node - on request - on the island of the sea scouts ("zeeverkenners") opposite the "Boterhuismolen" at the Zijlweg, near the "Joppe".

Because thee island has some high trees on it, the sea scouts have first erected an 8 meters high mast to attach the antennas of Wireless Leiden to, at such a heigt that there is no interference of the wifi signals from the trees.
