Node on school Lucas van Leyden rebuilt

The Wireless Leiden node on the school Lucas van Leyden has been rebuilt by our volunteers. See some pictures of the process in our new photo album. This was not yet the last modification of this node. After a planned partial renovation of the school the node will likely be moved to a higher point.

Node at Heineken (Zoeterwoude)

Wireless Leiden has built a new node, in cooperation with its Zoeterwoude department, on one of the buildings on the site of the Heineken brewery in Zoeterwoude. Wireless Leiden thanks Heineken for her cooperation, that made it possible to buld this node.
The new node is a node with only interlinks to other nodes, and no local access point. At the moment there is an interlink to the former tax office in Leiden. There will also be interlinks with yet to be built new nodes in Zoeterwoude.

Overview of activities by Wireless Leiden

Wireless Leiden publishes since 2008 every year an illustrated overview of its activities in the Dutch language. These overviews can be found
under this link.

Node VisitorCentre built

On two cold days in March 2013, March 28 and 29, a group of volunteers of Wireless Leiden has built a double node on the building in which the Leiden Visitor Centre and the "Kamer van Koophandel" (Chamber of Commerce) are located. The node covers the station square (front side) and part of the Steenstraat. The node is sponsored by the Kamer van Koophandel and an internet connection is sponsored by the Visitor Centre.

This is one of the first nodes, primary meant to give coverage on street level. In the future mainly nodes, meant to give coverage on street level will be built.

First node in Teylingen has been built and is in the air

In Teylingen on a cold Saturday, March 30, 2013, the first node of the Free WiFi Teylingen project has been built and has been made operational on Tuesday April 2, 2013. The node is situated in the tower of the "Bestuurscentrum" (Community Centre) of Teylingen, in Voorhout.

The building and configuration have been mainly realized by local volunteers. Some assistance has been given by Wireless Leiden.
Teylingen has sponsored an internet connection. The node covers the place of the "Bestuurscentrum" and the railway station of Voorhout.
